As I was going through my feed, I come across something posted by a friend of mine. A new service called “Sexy Liberation” has come into the light to provide a path into the sexual revolution. At first, I was skeptical, of course. But I went ahead and checked out their selection, as well as how and why they can provide a service that gives the public access to sex toys for free. That’s right, I said ‘free’. As in, you pay nothing for these quality sex toys.
Now here’s a subject I’ve been getting excited about for a while. The topic of lingerie has been hotly debated for years and years, from both men and women alike, regarding whether or not paying hundreds of dollars for something that will come off within thirty seconds is really worth it. Much of the time, the argument is broken down into topics of comfort, durability(does it tear easily?), accessibility, and of course, the cost. All of these things are good things to consider when getting lingerie for yourself, or for your lover. But, is that all there really is to it?
I had recently read a blog post from another erotica author, like myself, who spoke about the differences between erotica and smut. Her explanation entailed there being very little, to no difference, between those genres at all. What you label your work is entirely up to your interpretation or preferences. After reading it, I found myself dissatisfied with her conclusion, and found it to be a little fluffy. Personally, I dislike when people try to blur the lines between distinct genres, and create this idea that what one person does is no different than what someone else does.
Some of you may remember some time ago when I posted an Erotic Bites story called New Membership, I wrote about a couple who become members of a lifestyle club in downtown Nashville. I was inspired to write about this club after learning about it’s existence. Yes, it’s a real place, it’s in downtown Nashville, and it really is an exclusive club where people will dance, swing, and explore their own sexuality. It may seem surprising to the uninitiated, but these kinds of clubs are much more prevalent than you would think, with similar establishments in nearly every major city across the country. If you don’t believe me, see for yourself. Depending on where you live, there could be one just within driving distance.
Well, here I am, at my laptop, with a half-finished story on my screen, and I can’t think of how to continue it. I find myself suffering from that great frustration known as writer’s block. I keep telling myself I can push through it if I just sit down and think, but I do so, and I remember why I stepped away in the first place. It’s especially frustrating as I’ve made a promise to you, my readers, that I would provide regular posts, and a new short story every week. I fear I may not be able to guarantee every week at this point.
Hello, all you handsome and beautiful people! It’s been quite a week or so for me, and I’m only just getting around to resuming my usual writings and musings. I trust your holidays all went pretty well, too. After checking out my social media, it looks like a lot has happened. We’ve lost some pretty amazing celebrities, and 2016 is clearly making a last ditch effort to get as many amazing people as it can before it’s over. With any luck, these last couple days will go by without anymore travesties.
I don’t know when it first happened, but there was a time, back when I was a teenager, and I was only attracted to thinner women, as most young guys are. But at some point, I began to look at larger women with more appreciation for their appearance. I remember one such woman from my class when I was a junior. She was absolutely gorgeous, but was also a bit more curvy than the women I was normally into. I didn’t understand my attraction to her at the time, but she was probably one of my bigger crushes back then.
I hope you’ll all excuse some of the brashness I’ll be using in this post, as I’ve become somewhat frustrated with the current standards of erotica-writing. Let me begin by saying there are TONS of great writers out there with some amazing work going out on a regular basis. With that said, when I first came out into the erotica genre, I was very happy with what I was finding. There was a website I got all my stories from(very small site, only a handful of stories compared to Literotica or LushStories), but every time I read a story, I was always bewitched by the situations contained within, and lost myself in the elegant stories that made me blush. It was because those stories were so well done, it inspired me to try and write a few myself, and aspire to the same quality.
I know my posts have been a bit off lately, but I wanted to write something, rather than nothing. Over the last week and a half, I’ve hit a bit of a creative wall, as all writers do from time to time. I was previously up for a really long time, feeling the itch to sit down and write whatever I wanted to write about for the last few weeks. I suppose I was a fool to think that itch would last forever. Hopefully, this rut I’ve found myself in won’t last very long, and I’ll be back to writing more short stories, and articles, very soon.
While I was working as a ghost writer, I had to write about subjects I’d never written before, so I had to spend a couple hours doing research on a subject, learning why some people were turned on by this particular kink, and how they got into it. They say you should write what you know, but that doesn’t mean your knowledge should be limited to just what you know right now.
There’s no way for us to know exactly how a woman will think, or act, in any given erotic situation. Sometimes, we’ll find, in life, most women will respond with the opposite reaction we use in our stories, which cuts into our credibility. In other cases, our portrayal of women in a certain situation will resonate with some women, and they can relate it to their own experiences.
Now, there’s been this misconception going around saying, ‘women write erotica, men write porn’. The basis for this concept is, as you can imagine, when women write, they do so using emotions, romance, and seduction. Whereas men only write slutty women performing sex acts from start to finish, just as you might see in porn. While this may be true for a lot of erotica writers, it’s the wrong state of mind to have when choosing the next author to read. But the concept doesn’t end there either.
