I was honestly surprised by how good this story was. Although it’s shorter than books I would normally review, I enjoyed this one enough to make an exception. “Their natural 20” is the story of Brielle, who was recently dumped by a douche of a boyfriend because he thought she was “too curvy” for him. To try and take her mind off it, and make some new friends, she joins a Dungeons & Dragons group at her college. The group is happy to welcome her in, and she even impresses them with her roleplaying prowess.
To be honest, when I first saw C.J. Douglass’ advertisement banner for “Overcranked”, I immediately wanted to get my hands on it. Part of me hoped that if I conveniently shared my book review submissions page right then, she might see it and consider sending me a copy. Clever, I know, but it didn’t take, hahaha. Eventually, I just gave in and purchased a copy myself. I couldn’t help it, I just really wanted to read this one for myself.
I originally pre-ordered “Amore: A Love Story” back in January, with the intention of reading it and writing this review soon after. Needless to say, I’m a bit late, and I apologize for that. But I find that I’m kicking myself for not having read this sooner. This love story by Alexa Nichols is much more than it appears on the surface. It’s both complex in it’s story-telling, and rife with erotic pleasures to excite you as you read.
Most times, when you begin reading an erotic novel, you expect a bit of backstory, or some introduction to the characters, before anything steamy takes place. But in the case of “Sharing Elena”, the author has managed to masterfully introduce her protagonists while one of them is getting a blowjob! Not many people can pull that off, and still get the story flowing right from the first page. But talented writer, Elle Danielson, has done exactly that! Her work can hook you from the very first paragraph, and will likely have you out of your pants before you can even get to page two.
This review will be a bit different than the reviews I’ve done in the past. Rather than reviewing one story, I’ll actually be reviewing four! From author, Daniele Light, comes a volume of some of her best erotic stories bundled up into one extra-long read. And boy, there’s really only one way to describe her work: absolute literary porn! Mrs. Light is best known for writing steamy stories about BMAW(black men, Asian women).
Current trends in the genre of erotica have shown a growing appreciation of a horror aspect to sex and sexuality. Between works of written erotica, and the porn industry, horror seems to be making an unexpected rise in popularity. Capitalizing on this idea is indie author, Laila Faire, who has crafted a number of horror erotica novellas, including “Carnival of Sin”. This was actually the first work of horror erotica I’ve ever read, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I figure the best thing to do was write down my first impressions, and tell you a bit about the story.
I first heard about Terri George last week as I was looking through my Twitter. I was eager to find something new to read and later review. Terri George already has several books available, and a good handful of positive reviews under her belt. The cover art, as well as her teaser graphics, are very eye-catching to be sure. She’s clearly been doing this for a while and knows the craft very well.
“The One Gold Slave” is a step above my expectations, and I was blown away by the world she had created. From the very first page, she had my attention. After the first chapter, I was enthralled by the story. Before I had realized it, I was almost half-way through the book. I believe there may have been a moment when I checked the page I was on, which was 168, and in what felt like minutes, I checked again, and found myself on page 244. There was no way I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to sit down, at this moment, and give you all a thorough review. And for those of you who read my posts regularly, you know how thorough I like to be.
