I want this to be the year I get back to where I was a couple years ago, when writing got me really excited, and the ideas weren’t hard to pull from the aether.
I certainly intended to write this much sooner than I am now, but I’ve learned just how hectic work life can be around the holidays. Lots of picky eaters and entitled opinions about what I’m making. Seriously, nothing pisses off a chef more than someone insisting on ordering something off-menu. I barely even had the time to let my muscles recover after work! But that’s part of the reason I’m writing about this now. I’m looking back at the past year and reflecting on how much I have changed, and how my work has changed in the process.
The thrum of the crowd outside augmented the roar of voices from the television. Liam looked out the large hotel window at the massive gathering out on the streets, part of him wishing he was down there with the rest of them, awaiting the countdown until the new year. Every year, this was the biggest party in the downtown area. This time, however, he had planned his own party, with a guest list so exclusive, only two names were on the list: himself, and his girlfriend, Camilla.
Ladies and gentleman of smut, welcome to this week’s #FantasySmutFriday challenge! Each week, I’ll present a new writing prompt based on a fantasy, and you’ll have one week to craft a flash story(~1,000 words or less) that fulfills this fantasy. The plot, events, characters, and twists are all up to you, so long as it brings the fantasy to life.
I want to take this moment to say, first off, that all of you who follow me, signed up for my email list, speak to me on social media, sent me story requests, or just regularly stop by to read what I have; you guys are some of my favorite people. It’s because of you guys that I’m motivated to keep doing what I do here on Forbidden Writings, despite what pitfalls I’ve had in my life this past year. When I started this site on Wordpress more than two years ago, I didn’t think I’d still be doing it today. I was almost positive this would just become another blog that disappeared when I realized no one would want to read it. Was I ever so wrong.
